“Inclusivity is a universal right that makes the world a better place.”
Gabriela (Gabi) Peralta is a proud Colombian New Yorker whose passion for technology and design fuels her commitment to social change. She is a dedicated advocate for women in STEAM and has taken on roles that support mentorship, empowerment, and community wellness.
Gabi’s work reflects a deep belief in using digital tools and creative thinking to drive meaningful impact.
Through her work in mentorship and advocacy, Gabi has helped create pathways for young women and underrepresented voices to thrive in tech and creative industries. She has collaborated with companies like Snapchat, Twitter, The Huffington Post, Amazon, and IMDb, gaining hands-on experience in tech partnerships, marketing, and UI/UX design. Her community-focused approach also includes creating wellness programs aimed at fostering inclusive, supportive environments that promote growth and learning.
Previously, Gabi worked as the Communications and Marketing Coordinator at the Queens Museum. There, she partnered with various museum departments to craft compelling written and visual content across all communication channels. She maintained a cohesive voice and visual identity across platforms while supporting the museum’s overall communications strategy. She was also invited to TikTok HQ to highlight & grow her approach to social-first video content creation in the Arts & Culture industry. She was part of the Queens Museum team from 2022 until she transitioned to her current role.
A Queens native and new media artist, Gabi’s background as an animator, filmmaker, and spoken word performer inspired her to create her first animation and live-action short film, Dear Soul. That film was selected for the 2024 Film Diary Festival, marking a significant milestone in her filmmaking journey.
Now, Gabi is the Social Media Manager at the Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art, where she leads the museum's social media strategy and content creation. Driven by a passion for using her experiences as a young woman to empower others, Gabi is committed to inspiring the next generation of leaders and creatives. She encourages them to embrace vulnerability, love their authentic selves, and advocate for social justice and change.
